Rainbow Bubble Snakes
This easy project will keep the kids entertained for ages, and it uses things you probably have lying around the house. It’s the perfect outdoor activity that’s fun for all ages, so make one of these rainbow bubble snakes for your family today!
What you will need:
Empty plastic water bottle (16oz)
Old sock
Rubber band
Dish soap
Water
Liquid food colouring
Tray or pan to hold bubble solution
Cut the bottom off of an empty plastic water bottle, taking care not to leave jagged edges.
Pull the sock over the cut end of the water bottle, and secure it tightly with the rubber band.
Using the liquid food colouring, paint the end of the sock that is covering the bottom of the bottle. The more colours you use, the more colourful your bubbler snake will be!
Pour some liquid dish soap into a tray or pan and add some water to thin it out. You can also use regular bubble solution, if you like, but the dish soap solution tends to produce better bubbles.
Carefully dip the sock end of the bottle into the bubble solution, then blow gently through the top opening of the bottle. (Make sure the little ones blow and don’t suck the bottle top, or they’ll get a mouthful of bubbles)
Watch the fantastic rainbow bubble snake grow right before your very eyes!
This is a project that is best done outdoors wearing old clothes, because the food colouring will stain hands, clothing and anything else it comes into contact with.
